My full name is Roshan Raman Bhakta and I live at T.V. Motel off of Old Highway 90 West.  I am 23 years old, my parents names are Raman Karsan Bhakta and Ila Raman Bhakta.  I went to the general meeting past few weeks ago when the general meeting was held and all I wanted to say was that we should have two general meetings per year instead of one.  So that at one meeting people can discuss their issues and at the second meeting people can see the work that is being done to fix those issues.  If we have two meetings per year it will get more people involved in the samaj in my opinion because people wont have to wait one whole year to talk about the issues that they may have.  This will also give a chance to others who might have not been able to make it to one meeting, to have a chance to make it to another meeting in the same year instead of having to wait one full year before being able to present their questions, comments, or concerns.  As for another topic I was really offended by the remarks that were made about the "youth."  I have been in the US and the Bhakta samaj of San Antonio since 1996.  Within those years I have helped out plenty in my opinion, whether its at weddings, picnics, or other functions, yet I always hear the same old chants "the youth never help out, they never do any work, they only eat and leave, and so on and so on...." I believe that I have put in at least 10 to 11 years worth of good work, which I know its not enough, but to keep having to hear the samethings over and over about the youth not doing this or that, is just ridiculous.  And yes the only thing this sounds like, is as if I am just complaining and not providing any "solutions."  Well an easy and simply solution, in my opinion is to do things for the youth for example: Picnics; there are mothers day picnics where we have games and things for mom's to do, at father's day picnics we have the general, beer, maybe BBQ sometimes, and just hang out, and at other general picnics we still have samethings, games for little kids like ponies, clowns, and moon walks, and that is good too for them, and of course on the picnic menu we got the food and beer.  I have no complaints against beer drinkers or meat eaters or what ever group of people there might be, but where in this is there anything being done for the youth (teenagers).  We go to picnics and we have to worry about looking for basketballs, footballs, tennis balls, and so on and so on, and then the adults wonder why the youth dont work or dont show up to picnics, because there is nothing to do there besides watch people drink beer and little kids play.  Within the past 10-12 years I have only seen one thing done for the youth at the picnics and that was a mini 2-on-2 basketball tournament deal that the youth themselves started (this was at the 36th street picnic hall, I am not sure of the date and year, but I know who put it together).  But anyways, I heard loud and clear at the past general meeting that a lot more youth are showing up to the picnics and that they are having more fun than they used to at the picnics nowdays? I dont know where they got that idea from or where they accumulated that data from, but I am pretty sure it wasn't from the youth.  Overall I appreciate everything that is being done in regards to keeping this samaj moving forward, but I believe that a lot of the things that have been going on for the past 10-12 years have still not changed.  I am just one person saying this and I know that at the general meetings we take votes and the majority wins, but we should listen to all members, because I believe that all members have to pay fee's to be part of the samaj, so therefore, all members who have things to say should be heard.  For example, at the meeting we took a vote on few things, and we only heard the opinions of the majority of the people when the votes were taken, when there were two people who voted NO on the issue they were not heard, they were not asked why they believe that NO is the correct answer on that particular issue or nothing.  How do we know that the majority of the people who voted YES on the issue are correct and the two people who voted NO are wrong? Maybe the majority might be wrong and the two who voted NO are correct.  This is why I believe that we should listen to minority as well as majority.  We are all working in this samaj together not against each other, but when there are different opinions both sides should be heard.  These are just few comments, issues, and concerns that I had on my mind that I thought should be heard and yes I know the meeting is the place where it should have been done, but I personally didn't think I was allowed to speak my mind since I am young and so on.  I will be glad to answer any questions anyone may have regarding this comments, because I got plenty of answers to go around haha.  Thank you.
